Efficiently Monitor Tailings Dams and Underground Infrastructures

The BH-SGS Smart Triaxial Borehole Geophone is a high-precision seismic sensor designed to measure underground vibrations generated by mining, construction, blasting, oil and gas exploration, and more.

The borehole geophone can be inserted into standard boreholes, so it can closely measure and monitor the vibration levels near underground structures, such as gas pipes, drinking water networks, tunnels and sewers, and thus help protect the integrity of the infrastructure.

The BH-SGS can also be used in the mining sector to monitor the condition of tailings dams and the risk of liquefaction or landslides, in the event of excessive vibration levels caused by blasting or seismicity.

The BH-SGS consists of an intelligent triaxial geophone, known as the Smart Geophone Sensor (SGS), and a surface-accessible digital signal processing module, enabling cable lengths of over 100 meters.

Surface-Accessible Control Electronics

Achieve economies of scale.

Soft dB has strategically designed the electronics to be housed inside a box, separate from the sensor. This allows for the box to be positioned at surface-level, while also being connected to the vibration sensor buried deep underground by a robust cable that can reach over 100 meters.

In the event that the sensor cannot be recovered, a request can be made for a new sensor replacement from the Soft dB team, and they can pair it with the existing box. By only requiring a replacement of a new transducer and not the electronics, sensor replacement costs become significantly less.

This allows you to use only a limited number of electronic units during your operations, and to replace sensors at a much lower cost.
